The Green Brigade would like to invite you to our 5th annual Anti-Discrimination Football Tournament.
It is important to always remember and be proud of the sentiment and ethos behind the founding of Celtic Football Club and as such our small tournament is our small gesture of recognising, celebrating and our effort in maintaining these special values.
Celtic Football Club was created by immigrants for immigrants. Inclusive from our outset it is only natural that the club and supporters alike would preach and demonstrate the values of tolerance and acceptance while opposing all levels and forms of discrimination.
As ever we welcome teams not only from the Celtic community but from the wider Glasgow community to come together, integrate, play (or attempt to play!) some football, share a burger and a drink, and most important of all have some fun!
‘Celtic Park – where a man is judged by football alone.’
Where is the Tournament?
The tournament this year will be held at Barrowfield Training ground on London Road. Registration will be at 11am at the Celtic Supporters Association. Kick off for games will be played at 12pm. This pack includes a map from Celtic Park to the CSA as well as some suggestions to get to the CSA by public transport.
How to get to there?
You can take the number 64 from the city centre which will drop you off right by the Celtic Supporters Association.
You can also take the 240 or 255 from the city centre towards Celtic Park. It is a 5minute walk from Celtic Park.
The first game will be played at 12pm.
Cavy 7-1 CSC
Govan Emerald CSC
A full fixture list will be provided at the registration. A group member will be assigned to each group to help with the fixtures and any other issues that will arise.
During the tournament we will provide a free BBQ and hopefully have something for the younger ones.
This year unlike previous years we will be having an evening event in the Celtic Supporters Association club. We will be providing a buffet as well as having a DJ. This will start from 6pm and go on till 10pm.
We would encourage everyone to attend, mingle, munch and have a laugh.
NO RACIST, HOMOPHOBIC, SEXIST OR DISCRIMINATORY LANGAUGE/BEHAVIOUR.
It is illegal to drink in public spaces and encourage people to take this into consideration. We hope that people will treat this as a ‘dry’ event and no drink will be allowed on the grounds. The CSA building will have a bar for people to drink in during the day and evening event.
